Download PDFPower theft is a non-ignorable crime that directly affects the economy of a nation. Electricity theft is a social evil, and power consumption and losses have to be closely monitored so that the generated power is utilized efficiently. This paper presents a system that prevents illegal usage of electricity, detecting theft electronically without human control using Radio Frequency (RF) technology, by comparing transmitted and received power along the line. The implementation of this system will save a large amount of electricity, making it available for more consumers in a highly populated country such as India.
